A Site I Found
You've got to check out LibraryThing. The link will take you to my library, but you can add your own, and it's free. It seems to be an interesting way to catalog your books, and use the site to find other users with similar collections. I spent about 20 minutes adding various books, but got tired after the first 100+. I plan to add all of my books to the site at some point. That is, when I'm not busy. So, look for that to be completed at some point in 2008.

I'm impressed with this sight and its usefullness. I've been meaning to enter my library (as I have CDs) on Excel, but this is so much easier and useful. I'm equally impressed that you could enter 100+ books in twenty minutes. I quit after 110 books, about halfway through.
Now, is there a way to keep track of books you read borrowed from a friend or from the library? This probably represents a more "impressive" collection.
Thanks for sending the link.

You could do that by setting up a second library. I was thinking about setting one up with every book I've read since starting to keep track in 1994.

Wow, that's a great idea. I'm thinking that one can truly play video and sports games and still be brilliant, if one has the mind for it. :-)

jefg,
I surely don't want to interrupt your bid for a mutual admiration society... but since I already broke into your MENSA meeting... nice find, c.
I wonder if they have this for dvds?>

Thanks again for the suggestion Dagrims. I posted my first three books (read but not owned) under the moniker "Jefread". I really enjoyed each of these books, and should probably take a stab at writing brief reviews and provide ratings. The books, which need to be returned, belong to the poster immediately preceeding this post, who if he keeps up the sarcasm will not receive either of the TWO t-shirts that may accompany the books upon their return. (This writer is obviously prone to using run-on sentences).
Right now I'm reading Banvard's Folly, having recently finished Middlesex and Virgin Suicides.
As for the DVD list (another great idea...perhaps you should take a MENSA test yourself?) it begs the questions...
1. Does the Library of Congress catalog all DVDs?
2. Is there another agency that does?
3. Where does this site get the cover photos? Amazon?
